Question by : What is the best natural way to get rid of acne scars?
I had a random break out a few weeks ago, resulting in deep cysts and pimples that took weeks to go away. Now that they’re gone, I’m left with dark spots (purple-ish). What is the best natural way to get rid of these scars? I’ve always used mederma for other scars in my life, and it seems to be helping a bit, but I was wondering if anyone had good natural remedies – especially ones that work QUICKLY! thank you!

Answer by Astrid Keep the scars hydrated (vitamin e oil works great, can be found in the cosmetic department at walgreens, not at all costly. and keep them out of the sun! that is most important!
There is nothing over the counter that will erase scars. I work at a pharmacy, and none of the pharmacists recommend mederma.

Question by sekalfnroc: Cystic acne?
Are there any ways of getting rid of cystic acne without medications like roaccutane? I’m willing to try anything. This isn’t caused by diet or anything, it’s caused by too much oil being produced in my skin. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Acne scars are embarrassing and almost impossible to cover up without a noticeable amount of makeup, for men this is even more difficult to deal with. While, there is no such thing as acne scar removal in the truest sense of the phrase, there are ways to lighten the appearance of the scarring making it almost unnoticeable. This can bring you a greater sense of self and confidence which will affect every facet of your life in a positive way.
Acne scar removal treatments can be expensive, painful and embarrassing to go through, but you don’t have to. There are natural remedies that are virtually free and you can perform in the privacy of your own home. While, they will not cure your acne scarring, as nothing can, they can improve your skin, diminish the appearance of scarring and prevent future breakouts.
One of the most popular natural remedies for acne scar “removal” is a scrub made from ground radish seeds and water.
Ground radish seeds can be found in a variety of grocery and health food stores, as well as some pharmacies that offer alternative or natural remedy products. Use this scrub daily before bed or during your night routine and you should see results before the two week mark. Scrubs should always be done with clean skin (wash makeup off first) at the end of your day. This is because they leave the skin raw and vulnerable and should be kept away from the sun and other free radicals in the environment for the best results. After you rinse the scrub off with warm water apply a good moisturizer.
Another natural remedy you can use to soften the appearance of acne scarring is a toner made of Sandalwood and Rosewater. Both of these items can be found at a reasonably low-cost at any of the places mentioned above.
Simply mix together equal parts and use as a cleanser and/or toner during your normal morning and evening skin care routine. This can be mixed up once and stored in the refrigerator for several weeks.
Acne scarring doesn’t have to rule your life and neither do the painful, expensive treatments you see advertised. You can find a natural way to treat your acne scarring and encourage good health in your skin for little to no cost in the privacy of your own home.

Question by cassandra xo™: What causes acne on your arms and back?
I have a pretty clear face, i get an occasional pimple or two once in a while but for the most part it’s acne free. But i have a huge problem with acne on the back of my arms and on the top of my back. It’s really disgusting and embarrassing when i wear tank tops or short sleeves. What even causes acne to develop on your arms and back? How can i get rid of it?

Unhealthy diet habits have always been associated with acne. There is no enough research available at present to point out unhealthy diet habits as a reason for acne but most of the people believe that bad diet habits cause acne. There is a logical hypothesis behind this popular belief.
As we know hormones are main reason for acne. In teenagers during Puberty the release of sex hormones is accelerated for the development of secondary sexual characteristics. These hormones make the sebaceous gland hyperactive releasing lots of sebum which is an oily secretion intended to moisturize and protect the skin. But this excessive secretion mixes with dead skin cells and forms a messy substance that blocks the skin pores causing inflammation resulting in acne. These hormones are all regulated by a primary hormone called insulin. Some foods rich in refined sugars and fats can cause a rise in insulin levels and there by causing a rise in other hormones that cause acne.
Hence foods that cause a rise in insulin levels are directly associated with acne. Though it may only seem logical there is no sufficient research to prove the hypothesis.
Hence it is advised to avoid junk food and maintain proper diet to minimize the risk of acne formation. Foods that contain low fat such as fresh vegetables, fruits, seafood’s should be taken to maintain a proper insulin levels in the body. So junk food may be or may not be responsible for acne formation. But if you seriously consider avoiding acne then you should probably consider avoiding junk food to minimize the risk and anyways junk food is unhealthy. So why bother eating. Take care and maintain good diet habits to effectively combat acne.
Question by : Do you think you could go out in public with matted hair, acne, and worn clothing?
I know anybody physically could, but would you do it? Even if you weren’t in an emergency situation?
I’m sorry if I offended anybody, but I added the question about the emergency situation because I thought that most people would not care at all in an emergency situation.
